On January 5, Sanghoon Lee of the Student Affairs Office (Gangnam Flower Shop) donated KRW 500,000 to the CNUE Development Fund. Since 1995, Mr. Lee has contributed a total of KRW 7.46 million in development funds, demonstrating long-standing commitment to the University’s growth. In addition, he has actively participated in community service activities totaling 3,836 hours, including environmental cleanups at Uiam Lake Waterfront Park, nighttime neighborhood safety patrols, delivery of daily necessities to elderly residents living alone, and youth delinquency prevention initiatives. Mr. Lee said, “I will continue to offer my support and efforts for the development of CNUE.”

On January 2, Chuncheon National University of Education (CNUE) held its 2026 New Year Kick-Off Ceremony at Ilji Hall in Hongik Building. The event was attended by faculty and staff from across the University. In her New Year’s address, Acting President Sangmee Kim stated, “I hope CNUE continues to be a proud and dependable community where all members, guided by mutual respect and consideration, can joyfully fulfill their roles. I wish each of you a meaningful start to the new year here at our University.” The ceremony also included the presentation of a Minister of Education Commendation (SeongHyeon Nam, Academic Affairs and Instruction Team) and Presidential Awards for Outstanding Staff in 2025, presented to seven recipients: Yuna Jo (Administration Office, Graduate School of Education), Juyeon Kang (Student Affairs Team), Jiyoon Lee (Financial Support Project Group), Seonghwan Jo (Institute for Educational Innovation), Jihye Kim (Academic Affairs and Instruction Team), Gyeongseok Oh (General Affairs Team), and Suwon Choi (Finance Team). Following the ceremony, Acting President Sangmee Kim and University representatives paid tribute at the campus Student Soldier Memorial and the Udu-dong Chungryeol Tower in honor of fallen patriots and national heroes.

The Office of Admissions at Chuncheon National University of Education (CNUE) hosted the 2025 On-Campus Career Mentoring Program on November 15, at Ilji Hall in Hongik Building. The program opened with welcoming remarks by Eunsook Jeong, Director of Admissions, followed by a special lecture on elementary teaching careers delivered by Professor Sangyeon Jo of the Department of Education. Participants then joined a campus tour led by current student mentors, took part in a student networking session, and attended an admissions briefing for the 2027 academic year presented by Admissions Officer Gyohyeok Lee. The campus tour, in particular, was organized into four groups, each guided by two student mentors. Participants rotated through four key locations—the Music Building, Practical Arts Building, Student Support Center, and Dance Building—experiencing planned activities at each site. CNUE will continue to offer a variety of outreach programs to provide useful admissions information to interested high school students.

The award ceremony for the “Lee Sung-deuk (Former President of the CNUE Alumni Association) and Jang Hui-hwa Scholarship” was held at the President’s Office on August 27. Established with a 133 million won donation from the seven children of Lee Sung-deuk and Jang Hui-hwa to honor their lifelong dedication to education, the Lee Sung-deuk and Jang Hui-hwa Scholarship will support students through 31 cycles. Cho Hyun-seo, a first-year student in the Department of Education, became the recipient of the second round of the scholarship, amounting to 3,825,502 won. President Lee Juhan said, “I hope that this meaningful scholarship, which will continue for 31 cycles, will be of great help to the students’ studies. The university will also do its very best for the students’ growth.” Lee Soo-Won, the former Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office, who represented the family, added, “I hope the noble intentions of my parents toward education can continue through this scholarship, and help many students become future teachers.”
