The award ceremony for the “Lee Sung-deuk (Former President of the CNUE Alumni Association) and Jang Hui-hwa Scholarship” was held at the President’s Office on August 27.

Established with a 133 million won donation from the seven children of Lee Sung-deuk and Jang Hui-hwa to honor their lifelong dedication to education, the Lee Sung-deuk and Jang Hui-hwa Scholarship will support students through 31 cycles.

Cho Hyun-seo, a first-year student in the Department of Education, became the recipient of the second round of the scholarship, amounting to 3,825,502 won.

President Lee Juhan said, “I hope that this meaningful scholarship, which will continue for 31 cycles, will be of great help to the students’ studies. The university will also do its very best for the students’ growth.” 

Lee Soo-Won, the former Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office, who represented the family, added, “I hope the noble intentions of my parents toward education can continue through this scholarship, and help many students become future teachers.”
